Food processing apparatus having a drive unit configured to drive a processing tool. The drive unit is configured to be held by a user. The drive unit may be operated in first and second modes of operation. In some embodiments, the drive unit may be actuated in a different manner in the second mode of operation as compared to the first mode of operation. In the first mode of operation, the drive unit is supported by a first container, , and interaction by the user with a first activation site actuates the drive unit. In the second mode of operation, the drive unit contacts a support surface, and a second container is supported by the drive unit, and interaction by the user with the second activation site actuates the drive unit.
