Summary: | When a vehicle decelerates quickly or otherwise experiences a hard brake event, the described systems and methods facilitate reducing load transfer between axles of a common set of axles (e.g. a tandem axle, a tridem axle, etc.). Transfer of suspension pressure from a dynamically unloaded axle to a more loaded axle is limited by a suspension control component such as a valve or solenoid or the like that closes upon detection of a hard brake event in order to lock air in the suspension components of the respective axles. This in turn limits the dynamically unloaded axle from lifting, thereby permitting it to contribute more significantly to the braking effort and improving stopping distance.
Lorsquun véhicule ralentit rapidement ou est soumis à un événement de frein dur, le système décrit et les méthodes facilitent la réduction du transfert de charge entre les essieux dun ensemble dessieux commun (p. ex. un essieu tandem, essieu tridem, etc.). Le transfert de la pression de suspension dun essieu dynamiquement déchargé à un essieu plus chargé est limité par un élément de contrôle de la suspension, comme une soupape ou un solénoïde, qui se ferme suivant la détection dun événement de frein dur afin de bloquer lair dans les éléments de suspension des essieux respectifs. Cela permet de limiter le levage de lessieu dynamiquement déchargé pour lui permettre de mieux contribuer à leffort de freinage et daméliorer la distance dimmobilisation. |
