Summary:The present invention refers to a procedure and some chemical compositions for preparing a microemulsion, which is formulated with a surfactant, a co- surfactant and brine, in specific and defined proportions. This procedure includes the steps of: mixing and a mixing sequence, agitation, time of rest or maturation and application to heavy crude oils. This microemulsion affords reducing the viscosity of heavy and extra-heavy crude oils, which improves their reological properties for production and pipeline transportation.
