A receptacle for secure mail and parcel receipt and storage. The receptacle includes a top which provides a roof for the receptacle, a base, and a housing connected to the top and the base. The housing includes an upper compartment into which mail is first placed, a lower compartment into which mail is deposited from the upper compartment, a front door, located on a front of the receptacle, which is opened to provide access to the upper compartment and through which mail is placed into the upper compartment, a trap door, operatively connected to the front door, in the upper compartment, and an access door that includes a lock. The trap door rests in an open position when the front door is closed, allowing communication between the upper and lower compartments. The trap door is moved to a closed position by the opening of the front door, thereby preventing access to the lower compartment from the upper compartment. The trap door returns to the open position when the front door is closed, depositing any mail placed in the upper compartment into the lower compartment. The access door is unlocked and opened to provide access to the lower compartment, whereby mail deposited and stored in the lower compartment may be retrieved through the access door. L'invention concerne un réceptacle permettant de sécuriser la réception et le stockage du courrier et des colis. Le réceptacle comporte une partie supérieure servant de toit pour le réceptacle, une base et un logement relié à la partie supérieure et à la base. Le logement comporte un compartiment supérieur dans lequel le courrier est tout d'abord placé ; un compartiment inférieur dans lequel le courrier est déposé à partir du compartiment supérieur ; une porte frontale, située à l'avant du réceptacle, qui est ouverte pour permettre l'accès au compartiment supérieur et à travers laquelle le courrier est placé dans le compartiment supérieur ; une trappe, reliée fonctionnellement à la porte frontale, dans le compartiment supérieur ; et une porte d'accès dotée d'un verrou. La trappe reste en position ouverte quand la porte frontale est fermée, pour permettre une communication entre le compartiment supérieur et le compartiment inférieur. La trappe se ferme quand la porte frontale est ouverte, ce qui empêche l'accès au compartiment inférieur à partir du compartiment supérieur. La trappe retourne en position ouverte quand la porte frontale est fermée, ce qui induit le transfert du courrier placé dans le compartiment supérieur vers le compartiment inférieur. La porte d'accès est déverrouillée et ouverte pour permettre l'accès au compartiment inférieur, moyennant quoi le courrier déposé et stocké dans le compartiment inférieur peut être récupéré par la porte d'accès.
