Summary:The present invention provides for an energy efficient process of producing hydrogen/carbon monoxide gas mixtures from one or more hydrocarbon gas streams treated in a syngas producing unit in which the carbon dioxide recovered during the process is recovered at high temperature and high pressure therefore allowing for at least a portion of the carbon dioxide stream to be recycled for further treatment while minimizing the need to compress the stream.
