A system for sorting a mixture of stained particles, including stained particles having a characteristic A and stained particles having a characteristic B, into at least one population, the system comprising: a. a fluid delivery system for delivering a fluid containing the stained particles in a flow path; b. an electromagnetic radiation source for exciting fluorescence emissions from the stained particles having characteristic A and the stained particles having characteristic B in the flow path; c. a photodetector for detecting the fluorescence emissions from the stained particles; d. a processor in communication with the photodetector for classifying the stained particles in the flow path according to their fluorescence emissions as either stained particles having characteristic A or stained particles having characteristic B; e. a control in communication with the detector for selecting stained particles to ablate; and f. a photo damaging laser in communication with the control for ablating selected particles in the flow path. Système permettant de trier un mélange de particules colorées, notamment des particules colorées présentant une caractéristique A et des particules colorées présentant une caractéristique B, au sein dau moins une population. Le système comprend ceci : a) un système dacheminement des fluides permettant dacheminer un fluide contenant les particules colorées dans une voie découlement; b) une source de radiation électromagnétique servant à exciter les émissions fluorescentes des particules colorées présentant la caractéristique A et les particules colorées présentant la caractéristique B dans la voie découlement; c) un photodétecteur servant à détecter les émissions fluorescentes des particules colorées; d) un processeur en communication avec le photodétecteur pour classifier les particules colorées, dans la voie découlement, selon leurs émissions fluorescentes selon quil sagisse de particules colorées présentant la caractéristique A ou de particules colorées présentant la caractéristique B; e) une commande en communication avec le détecteur pour sélectionner les particules colorées à enlever; et f) un laser photodommageable en communication avec la commande permettant denlever les particules sélectionnées de la voie découlement.
