Summary:The invention provides a composition comprising (S) 2-amino-1-(4-chloro-p henyl)- 1-[4-(1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-phenyl]-ethanol, wherein the composition is e ither substantially free of (R) 2-amino-1-(4-chloro-phenyl)-1-[4-(1H-pyrazol -4-yl)- phenyl]-ethanol or the composition contains a mixture of the (S) and (R) enantiomers in which the (S) enantiomer predominates. Also provided are processes for the preparation of the (S) 2-amino-1-(4-chloro-phenyl)-1-[4-( 1H- pyrazol-4-yl)-phenyl]-ethanol, novel process intermediates and methods f or making the novel process intermediates.
