Summary: | Chemical and biological protective firefighter turnout gear garments are provided. The protective fabric includes at least one sorptive, reactive, or combined sorptive/reactive material capable of providing protection from at least one chemical or biological agent. The sorptive, reactive or sorptive/ reactive material preferably can be recharged, regenerated or removed and re placed to allow for increased garment life. Embodiments of the fabric, garme nt, and methods for making the fabric and/or garment can provide in a protec tive garment a unique combination of sorptive/reactive capability, flame res istance, water vapor permeability, liquid impermeability, comfort and durabi lity. |
