Summary:An arrangement and method in a telecommunication network for providing a called party with multiple real-time options for responding to an incoming c all. A called-party user terminal (23) receives the incoming call from a cal ling party (21 ) and notifies the called party. A user terminal client (68) provides the called party with a pluraiity of response options and receives a selected response from the called party. The user terminal client (68) sen ds the selected response to a network server (14), which implements the sele cted response and sends it to the calling party. The called party may send p redefined responses such as tunes or symbols, or may record and send reai-ti me voice or video bursts.
