Summary: | Controller of molding system having: extruder, extruder heaters, hot runner having: zone, and thermal sensor placed proximate of zone, machine nozzle connecting extruder to hot runner, controller operatively coupled to thermal sensor, controller comprising: controller-usable medium embodying instructions executable by controller couplable to molding system, instructions configured to direct controller to: (i) control thermal condition of extruder by controlling extruder heaters; (ii) determine whether change in thermal condition of extruder is required based on thermal condition of zone of hot runner; (iii) adjust threshold of extruder heaters based on a non-extruder sensor that is positioned away from extruder but positioned proximate to melt passageway; and (iv) use the non-extruder sensor in closed loop feedback control schema to adjust heat of extruder. |
