Summary:A carton assembly (500) has a carton (300) having an interior that has in ner walls (332, 336, 338, 340) defining a tray portion and an insert (400) d isposed within the tray portion for retaining an article within the interior of the carton (300). Either the tray portion or the insert (400), or both, include a receiving structure for supporting the insert (400). The insert ma y have a substantially hollow beam structure. The hollow beam structure of t he insert (400) has an open end (O) that is engaged by a tab or tabs (161) e xtending from an inner wall or walls of the carton. A center panel (166) ext ends between each tab (161) and the bottom wall of the carton and engages th e open end of the hollow beam.
