Summary:The invention relates to a device for securing the installation of and fixin g a heat shield element (4) which can be connected to a rotor unit (1) of an axial rotary flow engine. Said heat shield element can be arranged axially directly next to at least one rotor blade (2, 3), mounted in a row of rotor blades (2', 3'), along a row of heat shields and comprises, facing axially t he rotor blade (2), at least two rib-type projections (9, 10). Said projections are spaced apart from each other in the circular circumferential direction (u), project above a lateral wall section (8) facing the rotor blade (2) and delimit an internal space (13) extending in the circular circumferential direction (u) in which space a securing cam (11) provided on the rotor blade (2) can be inserted. The invention also relates to a method for producing th e corresponding device. The invention is characterized in that at least one ri b- type projection (9, 10), on its end facing away from the internal space (13) , provides an extension (15, 16) which extends in the circular circumferential direction (u), is connected to the projection (9, 10) and the lateral wall section (8) and projects above the lateral wall section (8) maximally up to the rib height of the projection (9, 10).
