A plasma polymer having residual functional (reactive) groups is formed on a substrate, a radiation curable coating composition is applied to the plasma polymer-coated substrate, and the radiation curable composition is radiation cured. The radiation curable composition contains a component which forms a polymer with the reactive groups of the plasma polymer, anchoring the cured composition to the plasma polymer which is anchored to the substrate. Un polymère plasma possédant des groupes fonctionnels (réactifs) résiduels est formé sur un substrat. Une composition de revêtement séchable par rayonnement est appliquée sur le substrat recouvert de polymère plasma. La composition séchable par rayonnement est séchée par rayonnement. La composition séchable par rayonnement contient un composant qui forme un polymère avec les groupes réactifs du polymère plasma, ce qui entraîne la fixation de la composition séchée sur le polymère plasma, lequel est fixé au substrat.
