Summary:Methods and systems for starting propeller driven aircraft and other devices are disclosed. A system in accordance with one embodiment of the invention includes a removable fixture that is coupled to the propeller and has at least one portion exposed to a flowstream to rotate the propeller during engine start-up. The fixture is configured to separate from the propeller after the engine begins to turn over (e.g., after the engine starts and/or rotates above a threshold rate). Accordingly, the system can include a releasable link between the fixture and the propeller. La présente invention concerne des procédés et système de démarrage de dispositifs à hélice. Un système selon l'un des modes de réalisation de l'invention comporte un accessoire amovible qui est couplé l'hélice et dont au moins une partie est exposée à un flux capable de faire tourner l'hélice pendant le démarrage du moteur. L'accessoire est configuré de façon à se séparer de l'hélice une fois que le moteur a commencé à tourner, par exemple, une fois que le moteur a démarré et/ou tourne au-dessus d'un régime seuil. Selon l'invention, le système peut comporter une liaison libérable entre l'accessoire et l'hélice.
