L'invention concerne un dispositif de biopsie à instrument tranchant capable de translation et de rotation. La vitesse de translation varie grâce à l'utilisation d'un élément à pas variable. Cet élément peut comprendre un arbre à partie filetée relativement brute permettant une avance rapide de l'instrument tranchant, et une partie filetée relativement plus fine pour l'avance de l'instrument durant la découpe de tissu.
