The invention relates to a method for automatically filing records concerning business events, according to which data regarding a business event is stored by means of a computer system so as to be accessible via a business application, and an identification code is assigned to a business event, one or several different classes of business events which have different data structures being represented in the computer system. The inventive method is characterized by the fact that: - at least one set of input data, which is provided with a structure that is specific to one or the or each class of business events and one or several business applications, is created from data concerning a business event in a first step; - the at least one set of input data is transformed in a second step into a set of output data, which is configured so as to be accessible by the at least two business applications; and - the set of output data is stored with the assigned identification code in a third step such that the set of output data can be fully or partly read by the at least two business applications by referring to said identification code.
