Summary: | The present invention relates to a light-weight hand-held striking tool, in particular a claw hammer, commonly used as third-class levers used to provid e a striking force to accomplish tasks such as driving a nail into a piece of wood, bending or forming metal, breaking a rock, and other similar tasks. Th e hammer (11) has a head (13) made of titanium, and the head has an eye (15) f or accommodating a handle (17) which may be made of a number of materials such as wood or a polymer. The head of the hammer has a claw end (19) and a striking head (21). Head (13) may be made by investment casting or forging. |
