Summary:An improved drain coupling of the type having a male coupling half (12) including a body (16) having an inner body end (18) and an outer body end (20). A passage (36) axially extends through the body intersecting the body ends (18, 20). A valve (46) is axially reciprocally mounted within the passage (36) between a closed position and a n open position for regulating flow of fluid through the passage. The improvement includes, among other things, a valve having a first valve e nd (46) adjacent to the inner body end (18) and a second valve end (48) adjacent to the outer body end (20). The valve has a central portion (50) positioned at a center of the valve adjacent to the second valve end.
