Optionnellement, la zircone comporte en outre un oxyde métallique contenant un ion métallique quadrivalent choisi parmi le dioxyde de hafnium, de cérium, d'uranium, ou un mélange de ces oxydes. Thermal barrier composition is based on zirconia containing dysprosium oxide for stabilization and thermal conductivity reduction. A low thermal conductivity thermal barrier composition is based on zirconia containing dysprosium oxide, for stabilization and thermal conductivity reduction, and optionally an oxide of a tetravalent metal of atomic weight greater than that of zirconium. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a mechanical part of a superalloy having a ceramic coating of the above composition; and (ii) a method of forming a thermal barrier coating on a superalloy substrate by depositing the above composition on a bond layer on the substrate.
