POLYPHASE INDUCTION MOTOR HAVING A FERROMAGNETIC ROTOR PLATE
A polyphase induction motor (10) is disclosed having two electromagnet arrangements (12, 14), each of the electromagnet arrangements (12, 14) having pole pieces (24, 26) with corresponding polar faces (27). The two electromagnet arrangements (12, 14) are arranged such that the polar faces (27) of th...

Summary: | A polyphase induction motor (10) is disclosed having two electromagnet arrangements (12, 14), each of the electromagnet arrangements (12, 14) having pole pieces (24, 26) with corresponding polar faces (27). The two electromagnet arrangements (12, 14) are arranged such that the polar faces (27) of the two electromagnet arrangements (12, 14) are in a mirrored facing relationship each other. A gap (66) is therefore defined between the facing polar faces (27) of the electromagnet arrangements (12, 14). A substantially planar ferromagnetic conductor plate (16) is disposed within the gap (66), and rotates about the central axis (68) of the motor (10). |
