Summary:The appliance (1) has a handle (2) and a heatable operating section (3) having a tubular carrier (4) for bristles (5). The bristled area covers approximately 180 deg. of the carrier's circumference, the remainder having circumferential ribs pref. of varying height. The bristled sector has a radius (R1) smaller than the ribbed (R2). The carrier can be either metal or plastic and made from two longitudinal half sections (7,8) corresponding to the two small and large radius sectors. R1 and R2 are pref. approximately 17 and 40 mm respectively. The radius in the transitional zones between R1 and R2 is pref. 3.5 mm approximately. The bristles are pref. mutually offset in the circumferential direction.
