Summary:HOE 92/F 018 of the disclosure Catalyst and process for the polymerization and copolymerization of olefins A highly effective catalyst system for the polymerization or copolymerization of olefins comprises at least one metallocene as transition-metal compound and at least one aluminum compound of the formula II (II) and/or of the formula (III) (III) where, in the formulae (II) and (III), the radicals R14 may be identical or different and are an alkyl group, an aryl group, benzyl or hydrogen, and p is an integer from 2 to 50, and at least one aluminum compound of the formula IV (IV) where R15, R16 and R17 are identical or different and are a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkylsilyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aryloxy group, an alkenyl group, an arylalkyl group, an alkylaryl group, an arylalkenyl group, a halogen atom or a radical of the formula -OSiR15R16R17 where R15, R16 and R17 are as defined in the description.
