Summary: | Reducing leakage in disposable diapers having a relatively high loading of superabsorbent materials requires a proper balancing of three properties of the superabsorbent material: the total absorbent capacity, the resistance to deformation when partially saturated, and the ability to wick fluids away from the insult area. Absorbent articles with superabsorbent material/fluff composites, which contain high loadings of superabsorbent material having the proper balance of properties, can be made to be substantially thinner while providing leakage performance equivalent to bulkier conventional articles containing greater amounts of fluff, |
