Summary:Process and installation for the treatment of a stream of gas containing pyrophoric dust A stream of gas containing pyrophoric dust and oxygen is treated in a chamber that is equipped in such a way that care can be taken continuously that said stream of gas has for at least 1 second a temperature of at least 270.degree.C and that the temperature of said stream of gas does not exceed 500.degree.C. Thereby, the pyrophoric dust, that is present in the stream of gas, is oxidized whereby it looses its pyrophoric character. The stream of gas is now optimally conditioned to be filtered in a bag filter installation.
