Summary:Compounds of formula: < IMG > or < IMG > wherein R1 is an alkyl group containing from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl containing up to 6 carbon atoms or phenyl optionally substituted with halogen, an alkyl group containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, trifluoromethyl, nitro or phenoxy; and R2 is phenyl or benzyl either optionally substituted with halogen, an alkyl group containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, trifluoromethyl, nitro or phenoxy, or R2 is phenylphenyl when R1 is alkyl or cycloalkyl; and X is a halogen atom, especially chlorine. The compounds are useful as intermediates in the preparation of novel triazole fungicides.
