Summary:Displacement Control Valving for a Radial Piston Device A radial piston device such as a radial piston motor has a rotor assembly rotatably positioned within a cylindrical race which is movable to a first displacement position by a first piston and a second displacement position by a second piston. A pintle extends into a bore of a rotor of the rotor assembly and has first and second ports for delivering fluid to and from the rotor. In order to reduce the size of the radial piston device and to minimize the number of external lines, a control valve is positioned within a bore of the pintle and selectively controls fluid flow from one of the first and second ports to the first and second pistons for shifting the cylindrical race between the first and second positions.
