Summary:The invention relates to a process for producing an acid addition salt of 2-(7-indenyloxymethyl)morpholine represented by the general formula: wherein R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group or a benzyl group. The process comprises subjecting the acid addition salt of the mixture of the 4-isomer of the general formula: and the 7-isomer of the general formula above to fractional crystallization from an organic solvent to recover the 7-isomer.
