Summary: | This invention relates to compounds of the formula: wherein R1 is alkyl, or alkenyl; R2 is alkyl, cycloalkyl or mononuclear aryl or R1 and R2 , taken together with the carbon atom to which they are attached, form a cycloalkyl or cycloalkoxyalkyl; R3 is alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, or a radical of the formula: -C(=Y)NR4R5 wherein R4 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl, R5 is alkyl, lower alkoxy alkyl, alkenyl, carbalkoxy or mononuclear aryl, or R4 and R5 may be joined to form together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic ring; Y is O or S; X is alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonylalkyl or cyano; m is an integer of 0 to 2, m' is an integer of 0 to 1, and n and n' are integers each having a value of 1 to 3, and the dotted line indicates an optional double bond anywhere in the ring; and to methods of using these compounds as insect repellents. |
