Summary: | Microporous fluid-permeable filter media are provided which are especially adapted for removing microscopic or ultrafine particles of sub-micron size from the medium in which they are suspended. The microporous fluid-permeable sub-micron filter media of the present invention comprise a polymeric resinous matrix having an inorganic filler dispersed throughout the resinous matrix, and a network of miro-voids or pores formed in the resinous matrix, between the particles of dispersed filler and the resinous matrix, and between neighboring particles of the filler with the size distribution of such pores being relatively non-uniform. |
