Summary:A system (100) for receiving a request from a user and providing a response thereto; the system including a logic engine (102) in communication with a remote server (104), wherein the logic engine (102) and the remote server (104) are arranged to be in communication via a network (106) and are remote from each other, the logic engine (102) comprising a logic module (108), and an adapter and plug (114a, b), wherein the adapter and plug is adapted define a bespoke form and to interface with and interrogate the remote server and the remote server (104) hosting one or more applications and including an application programming interface (API) (115) which is capable of applying bespoke logic to obtain data from the remote server (104) in response to interrogation data from the logic module (108), wherein the logic module (108) is adapted to receive the request and determine whether the request requires additional data beyond that which is available in the logic engine (102); wherein the logic module (108) calls the adapter and plug (114a, b) to send the interrogation data in the bespoke form to obtain the additional data; wherein the remote serve that can satisfy the request is identified and the request is assigned to the API associated with the identified remote server; wherein the logic module (108) receives from the API (115) response data including said additional data; and wherein the logic module (108) generates a response to the request which response is determined by using the response data.
