A waistband is secured to the first and second ends and projects outward therefrom. A pair of side seams join the front and back regions together and extend through the waistband to form an undergarment having a longitudinal central axis, a waist opening and a pair of leg openings. Elastic members at least partially surround the pair of leg openings. The waistband has a greater retracted length than the elastic members and the waistband imparts a convex configuration to each of the pair of side seams before the undergarment is worn by a user.
