Um método para a produção de um componente metálico inclui: fornecer uma mistura de um pó metálico e de um ligante; fundir o dito ligante e conformar a dita mistura em uma pré-forma (48) com o formato do dito componente; remover a maioria do dito ligante de dita pré-forma (48); e aquecer a dita pré-forma (48) com energia de microondas para remover o remanescente do dito ligante e para sinterizar o dito pó metálico de modo a formar o dito componente. O componente pode ser formado como um componente individual ou em contínuo. A method of producing a metallic component includes: providing a mixture of a metallic powder and a binder; melting the mixture and forming the mixture into a preform (48) in the shape of the component; remove a majority of the binder from the preform (48); and heating the preform (48) with microwave energy to remove the remainder of the binder and to sinter the metal powder together to form the component. The component may be formed as an individual component or continuously.
