Summary: | The coated catalyst is made by impregnating powdered finely divided carrier material with a solution of catalyst precursor, making an aqueous dispersion of impregnated material, coating an inert support with the dispersion, drying and calcining. Production of the coated catalyst comprises: (a) impregnating powdered finely divided materials of large surface area with a solution of catalyst precursors by the method of pore volume impregnation so that the precursors are adsorbed on the material(s); (b) making an aqueous coating dispersion from the mixture; (c) coating an inert support with the dispersion; and (d) drying and calcining the coating. |
