Summary: | Polymerization of olefins is carried out in two series-connected reactors using a solid supported chromium (Cr) catalyst and a cocatalyst. Olefins are polymerized, optionally with one or more comonomers, in two reactors connected in series, in the presence of a solid catalyst comprising Cr on a support selected from the binary supports SiO2-AlPO4 and Al2O3-AlPO4, and ternary supports SiO2-Al2O3-AlPO4, and a cocatalyst. The feed to the first reactor comprises ethylene, optionally a comonomer and/or hydrogen, and solid catalyst. The reaction medium from the first reactor is transferred into the second reactor. Feed to the second reactor comprises ethylene, optional comonomer and/or hydrogen. The cocatalyst is present in at least one of the two reactors. |
