Summary:A certified (e.g. U.S. Department of Transportation and United Nations) transportable, returnable, reusable, plastic, self-supporting, storage container (1) for liquids, greases, prills, dry powders or any combination thereof, comprising a rigid, round, plastic vessel (20), molded in one piece, and a full-diameter lid (10) for the vessel (20) having one large cap (13) and a smaller bung (13B). Preferably, these parts are molded out of a dicyclopentadiene polymer, using the reaction injection molding (RIM) process. The lateral wall (21) of the vessel is inclined inwardly from top to bottom so as to define an upper truncated conical section (20A) and lower truncated conical section (20B) coaxial with the upper section. A recess (25) with a thick wall section (26) is formed near the bottom of lateral wall (21) of the vessel and this recess (25) can be tapped with a threaded drainage hole (27) to receive a threaded drain valve (30). The vessel's bottom (24) is sloped towards this recess (25) to permit complete draining of the container's contents. The container (1) may be mounted on a pallet member (40) or seated in a pallet tub (50).
