Summary:An improved apparatus for the formation and production of cylindrical pressure vessels or tanks through metal spinning operations wherein the end caps of the vessels are simultaneously formed from a hollow, thin-walled cylindrical work tube (24) rotatably supported within the apparatus. The arrangement is further designed to provide control of the distribution of the wall thickness as well as the profile of the end cap portion (106) of the vessel so that the knuckle area (148) may be of controlled thickness to increase durability and performance of the tank or vessel.
