Summary:The cardboard is made thinner having a better capability of taking up impacts and compression strength in vertical loading. By the method cardboard is manufactured by the deposition of multilayer corrugated layers (10, 103) of different pitches and widths between the upper and the lower layer. The volume of the packaging made from it is reduced. By the method the first corrugated layer (102) is being continuously deposited onto an external layer (101) and in this way forming one-layer cardboard. The first corrugated intermediate layer (102) has a preset corrugation pitch and height. Then a second corrugated intermediate layer (103) is continuously deposited to the single-layer cardboard, in this way forming a multilayer corrugated cardboard (105). The second corrugated intermediate layer optionally has a selected pitch and height of corrugation. 17 claims, 5 figures
