Summary:Method of plastically deforming a body of malleable solid material between male and female dies which are forcible pressed together. The material is subjected to repeated identical pressing cycles; in each pressing cycle the force between the dies is concentrated consecutively on separate sections of the surface of the material being deformed. The body may be directly or indirectly extruded into an elongated shape from a location between the male and female dies which is disposed nearest the section of the surface of the material being deformed in each pressing cycle, or it may be deformed between the dies without any appreciable portion thereof escaping from between the dies.
