Summary:The present invention relates to the immunodominant T cell epitope of rye grass, its minimal sequence, its role in hayfever and its use in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prophylaxis of hayfever. According to the present invention there is provided a polypeptide of nine amino acid residues including the six amino acid residues VXRIDT, and analogues and mimetics thereof. The polypeptide can be administered to provide a method for treatment or prophylaxis of allergies particularly of rye grass allergy or hayfever.
