Summary:To erase a character, the printing paint is moved to a first position a fraction to one side of the printed character to be erased and the type of the character to be erased stuck against an erase tape onto the printed character. The printing point is then moved a second position a fraction on the other side of the character to be erased and the type is again struck. This arrangement is particularly suitable for daisy wheel print heads where the accuracy of character placement when overprinting is relatively low.
