Summary:1352796 Flame retardant polypropylene compositions M & T CHEMICALS Inc 25 Aug 1972 [27 Aug 1971] 39746/72 Heading C3P Flame retardant compositions comprise (1) a homopolymer of propylene or copolymer containing at least 50% of propylene units and (2) a single flame retardant constituent constituted by 10 to 50% by weight of the composition of tris-(2,4,6-tribromophenyl)phosphate. The oopolymer may also contain units of ethylene, butylene, butadiene, acrylic acid or an ester thereof or acrylonitrile. In examples compositions of the invention are compared with others containing tris-(trichlorophenyl)phosphate, tris- (pentachlorophenyl)phosphate, tris-(4,6-dibromo-2-methylphenyl)phosphate, tris-(1,6-dibromo-2-naphthyl)phosphate, tris-(tetrabromo-2- methylphenyl)phosphate and tris-(pentabromophenyl)phosphate.
