Summary: | Superconducting compounds defined by either general formulae (I): A2+ eta B2+ epsilon Can- lambda Cun+1O6+2n+ delta :Me or (II): A'1+ eta B2+ epsilon Can- lambda Cun+1O5+2n+ delta :Me, wherein A represents one or more elements chosen from thallium (T1), lead (Pb), bismuth (Bi) or mercury (Hg); B represents one or more elements chosen from calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), barium (Ba), lanthanum (La) or yttrium (Y); Me represents a doped metal; A' represents one or more elements chosen from thallium (Tl), bismuth (Bi) or mercury (Hg); n represents a natural number; delta represents a positive or negative deviation from the stoichiometric quantity of oxygen (O), wherein | delta | < 1; eta , epsilon and lambda represent a positive or negative deviation from the stoichiometric quantities of respectively A or A', B and Ca, wherein | eta | < 1, | epsilon | < 1 and | lambda | < 1, in which compounds the Cu atoms are surrounded by O atoms and are ordered in electrically conductive CuO2 layers, and the crystal lattice of the compounds is built up of successive parallel layers AO, BO, n(CuO2, Ca), CuO2, BO, AO, wherein n(CuO2, Ca) represents an n-fold stacking of a pair of stacked layers (CuO2, Ca), which compounds comprise at least one planar lattice defect which is induced by the doped metal, for instance titanium (Ti), and which extends substantially in a direction perpendicular to said parallel layers. Electrical conductor which comprises such a compound. |
