Summary:1338913 Cigarette paper BRITISH-AMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 4 Aug 1971 [18 Aug 1970] 39750/70 Heading D2B [Also in Division A2] Paper for wrapping tobacco is made of cellulose fibres and fibres or particles of a thermoplastics material which evanesces at a temperature lower than that at which the cellulose burns, the latter fibres or particles having been intermingled with the cellulose fibres during paper-making and being present in an amount of 5-30% by wt. of the paper. The thermoplastics material may be a polyolefin, vinyl polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, polyester, polyamide, polyacetal, polycarbonate, styrene, butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer, or cellulosic ester or ether, and it may be foamed or cellular. Chalk may be added during paper-making for loading purposes.
