Summary: | A device for curling hair has a handle to which is attached a hair heating member 6 and a pressure member 8 for clamping the hair against the heating member. A generally arcuate styling edge 10 is provided in the region of the heating and/or pressure member. Hair is drawn across the edge to cause stretching of one side of the hair which causes curling. The hair may subsequently pass over a cooling member (30, Fig 3) to facilitate setting of the curls. The device may take the general form of a curling tong (Figs 5-12) having an elongate heater of generally elliptical section and provided with hair guiding ribs, the styling edge being provided on the edge of an elongate clamp which can engage the heater and is pivoted to the handle. |
