Summary:4-Deacetoxyvincristine and acid addition salts of this compound are obtained by subjecting 4-deacetoxyvinblastine to oxydative formylation and converting the resulting compound where appropriate into its acid addition salts. This compound which can be prepared according to the invention has, for example, excellent cytostatic properties and is less toxic than vincristine, which has similar actions.
