Summary: | A method for controlling the coolant temperature of an electric motor of a drive device (8) of a rotor of a centrifuge, preferably a separator (1) with a vertical axis of rotation, more particularly during execution of a centrifugal separation of a suspension into at least two different product phases; wherein the rotor has at least one rotatable drum (2), and wherein the drive device has an electric motor (8) that directly or indirectly rotates the rotor, and wherein the drive device also has an apparatus (100) for supplying the electric motor with a coolant and the apparatus comprises a control apparatus, has at least the following steps: a) providing the centrifuge with the drive device; b) driving the rotor, more particularly during execution of the centrifugal separation of a suspension into at least two different product phases; by means of the electric motor, and c) cooling, in a controlled manner, the electric motor at least during step b) in cooling cycles interrupted by breaks. |
