Summary: | A large scale field erected air cooled industrial steam condenser connected to an industrial steam producing facility, comprising: a rectangular array of air cooled condensing cells arranged into a plurality of rows, each of said plurality of rows comprising a plurality of said air cooled condensing cells; each air cooled condensing cell comprising at least one fan and a plurality of condenser bundle pairs arranged in an A or V configuration, each condenser bundle comprising a single row of finned flattened tubes fitted adjacent to one-another, each of said condenser bundles oriented so that a longitudinal axis of said finned flattened tubes is positioned at an angle of 55°-65° from horizontal; each condenser bundle having attached at a bottom end a combined steam distribution-condensate collection manifold running along a length of said condenser bundle configured both to deliver steam to a bottom of said finned flattened tubes and to collect condensate that forms in said finned flattened tubes from said steam as it cools; each condenser bundle having attached at its top end a non-condensable collection manifold running along a length of said condenser bundle parallel to a respective one of said combined steam distribution condensate collection manifolds and configured to collect non-condensable gases from said steam, and each row of air cooled condensing cells comprising a steam duct running beneath midpoints of condenser bundles in said row, each said steam duct having a longitudinal axis that is perpendicular to longitudinal axes of said condenser bundles in said row and connected to each combined steam distribution-condensate collection manifold of said condenser bundles in said row by riser ducts, wherein all of the steam delivered to said condenser bundles is delivered from said combined steam distribution-condensate collection manifolds. |
