Summary:The tamper resistant medical connector device (10) includes an inner luer cap (30) for threaded sealing engagement with a standard luer SL or PICC line inlet port (14). The inner luer cap is surrounded and enclosed by an outer cap first half component (52) adjacent the inlet port (14), and an outer cap second half component (60) secured to the outer cap first half component to form a unified outer cap (50), and having an cap stem (70) engaged with the inner luer cap (30), on an end of the inner luer cap opposite the inlet port. The cap stem (70) is partially surrounded and enclosed by the outer cap second half (60). Once the threads (32) of the inner luer cap (30) are in threaded engagement with the inlet port, the tamper resistant device (10) resists removal as the outer cap spins freely when rotated in a reverse direction. An unlocking key (100) is used to disengage the tamper resistant device (10) for authorized access to the inlet port (14).
