Summary:Fixing clips (10) and wall cladding boards (50) are used for installing a wall cladding assembly to a vertical stud surface (12). A first fixing clip (10a) is mechanically fastened to the surface by using a nail gun to apply a nail (16) thereto. A downwardly extending lip (58) of a first board (50a) is then connected to an upwardly extending lip (24) of the clip (10a) so that the first board is stably supported, and can independently stand substantially upright, alongside the surface without falling away from that surface. A second mating extension (60) of the first board is then connected directly to the surface by pressing a first mating extension (26) of a second fixing clip (10b) against the second mating extension. While the second mating extension is being pressed by the first mating extension directly to the surface, the clip (1Ob) is mechanically fastened to the surface by using the nail gun to apply a nail thereto. The method is then repeated to install more wall cladding boards together with fixing clips which, when fastened, will interconnect each upwardly adjacent pair of wall cladding boards to form a completed wall cladding assembly. 5a 'a0 1;
