Summary: | In this patent, a plasmonic device that can achieve multiple different functions is invented. The proposed structure consists of a resonator with a rotatable oval core coupled with input and output waveguides as shown in Fig. 1. The temporal coupled mode theory and finite-difference time-domain method reveal that embedding and rotation of elliptical core can alter the original resonance state. Specifically, two switchable operating wavelengths are obtained. Ultimately, multifunction with signal controllability can be realized in the designed device through the angle manipulation method: power splitting function with selectable wavelengths; filtering function with controllable output ports and wavelengths; wavelength demultiplexing function with tunable output ports; switching function with variable output ports and wavelengths. This invention is of great significance for the design of reconfigurable photonic integrated loop. Fig.1 Fig. 2 (b)920 -840 '820 800i 755 60 65 70 75 Radius (nm) Fig. 3 |
